Yuji Ando became a country representative of JETRO Dhaka on 01 August 2019. At the same time, he served the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) as its president until 21 March 2021. Mr Ando is also the secretary general of Japanese Commerce and Industry Association in Dhaka.

Yuji Ando became a country representative of JETRO Dhaka on 01 August 2019. At the same time, he served the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) as its president until 21 March 2021. Mr Ando is also the secretary general of Japanese Commerce and Industry Association in Dhaka. Mr Ando served as the chief of the Cabinet Office of Japan in Tokyo for three years (2016-2019), where he was in charge of regulatory reforms related to “The Ease of Doing Business”, especially simplification of administrative procedures and better regulation. Mr Ando embarked on his government service at JETRO in 2008. His career spans a wide range of promotion of trade and investment issues, as well as several posts at the Institute of Developing Economies, a JETRO research institute. He was also stationed at JETRO Dhaka as a trainee (2011-2012) and JETRO Hamamatsu office as its chief (2014-2016). Mr Ando is a graduate of The University of Tokyo where he received his BEc. He also finished the Bengali Language Programs in Dhaka (2011-2012).

Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (Jun) has over 25 years of experience in various aspects within the research, IT and consulting industry. He graduated with the highest honour of Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State University, the USA, and subsequently did an MBA from Fisher College of Business of Ohio State University. Mr Bhuiyan worked in Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company in the US, and managed his own IT firm ‘BlueLine International LLC’. During his time in Nationwide, he bagged numerous awards and worked on information technologies like enterprise resources planning (ERP) software projects and web-based applications. Mr Bhuiyan is currently the co-owner of various chain stores in Bangladesh such as Crimson Cup Coffee and Ginza Restaurant. He is the managing director of NewVision Solutions Ltd, a trustee of Kazuko Bhuiyan Welfare Trust and he sits on different advisory boards. He is also the former secretary general and director of the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI). Mr Bhuiyan is also the infrastructure adviser to the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh. He speaks fluent Japanese in addition to English and Bangla.

Tomoko Uchiyama has over 20 years' experience working with NGOs in Bangladesh and Japan on Child Rights, Women Empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction, etc. She had studied international relations and social welfare in Japan. Her involvement with Bangladesh from 2007. She has many experiences of working with local partner organizations to implement field-level activities that support people's problem-solving capacities.

Dr Abdullah-Al-Mamun is the Executive Director of PARI. He is also an associate professor and the ex-chairman of the Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr Mamun is the General Secretary of the Japanese Studies Association in South Asia (JSASA).

Dr Abdullah-Al-Mamun is the Executive Director of PARI. He is also an associate professor and the ex-chairman of the Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr Mamun is the General Secretary of the Japanese Studies Association in South Asia (JSASA). He did his PhD in International Development Cooperation and Postgraduate Certificate (Research Methods) from the University of Huddersfield, the UK. Dr Mamun is an MBA and he completed a Certificate in Law from the University of Northumbria, the UK. His areas of specialisation are aid and development effectiveness, international development cooperation, FDI, effectiveness of Japanese ODA in Bangladesh, and Japanese society and culture. He has years of professional experience in working with international entities such as USAID, UNDP, UNCDF, JICA, JETRO and Mitsubishi Corporation, and government and domestic organisations such as ERD, NAPD, Cabinet Division, BRAC, ASA and Asiatic Society for research, training report preparation and policy evaluation. Dr Mamun is the co-author of three books and he published a number of research articles in national and international journals.

Ken-Ichiro Miyama is the CEO of Field Design NetworX, which provides consulting services to diverse sectors like corporations, governments and financial institutions. He is a researcher in international business. He has visited Bangladesh umpteen times and has been involved in the expansion of many Japanese companies into Bangladesh. Mr Miyama founded Field Design NetworX in February 2009. Previously, he worked for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation for over 15 years and then served AP Bank (non-profit organisation for environmental issues) as its COO. Currently, Mr Miyama is engaged in entrepreneurial education and support for the creation and implementation of various social issue-driven innovations from the perspective of social issues, business and technology. Mr Miyama also sits on administrative committees of the Japanese Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. He is the director of an NGO and also teaches at universities and graduate schools. He holds an MBA from Rikkyo University and earns doctoral programme credit of Keio University’s Graduate School of System Design and Management.

He initially joined a teacher of the Japanese University Alumni Association of Bangladesh (JUAAB). Later, Mr Kuniaki established his own Kokorozashi Japanese Language School. Yurika Bhuiyan received her bachelor’s degree from Scripps College in California, followed by her master’s from Durham University in the UK. Ms Yurika worked for SMEs (Primary Locums and NewVision Solutions) and Fortune 50 companies (Disney, and Procter & Gamble) in three different countries—Bangladesh, the US and the UK. She worked as a lecturer of management at North South University for five years. Her research interest includes cross-cultural management and Japanese business ethics. Ms Yurika is presently doing her PhD in Waseda University in Japan. She is also a trustee of the Kazuko Bhuiyan Welfare Trust. Ms Yurika speaks English, Bangla and Japanese.
